Surgery: What You Can Do To Reduce Scaring

By

From Vitamin E to Mederma everyone has a suggestion on how to heal those nasty scars after surgery. So whether you have had plastic surgery, heart surgery as I did or any othe surgery you may want to check out the dozen real people that I have spoken with have to say.

See all 3 photos

What real people are saying...

CAM from Ca...I'm four weeks out from my tummy tuck and boob job... and mederma has already lessened my scarring.

DY from Az...Ditto on the Mederma. I've been using it on my hysterectomy scar and it's working great!

EP from Mn... "Ok-Here's the best stuff out there-by far. I had my face reconstructed, along with other terrible scars and this is what to do:

Order Rejuveness online, do the www. thing. It is a silicon patch you wear over scar 24/7. Wash it once a day, patch also, and reapply. It does not hurt and is WAY better than Mederma. It is costly, but it honestly saved me from 4 more procedures on my face. It is a natural, non medicinal treatment.

It works on stretch marks, scars 15 years old and younger, too! You can also save the patch and use it again years later. I've had mine for a long time.

TG, from the Dominican Republic "My plastic surgeon told me to use: SCARFADE, he is using it in his clinic regularly.

SD in Ca "I work in a Plastic Surgeons office and work on reducing the appearance of scars everyday. I perform three laser treatments three weeks apart. The laser is the Palomar 1540. This corrects the texture of the scar, we then use the photo facial hand piece to reduce the pigment in the scar. The client also uses Bio medic Cicaplast cream. In the past we have used Mederma, Scarguard, Vitamin E and the list goes on. The Cicaplast is amazing. I have some clients who can't see any signs of scars!

The others I talked did have a consensus in recommending Mederma.  So that may be your best first chance.  Others did say taking and spreading Vitamin E and Coconut oil.

But from first hand experience I can tell you that there is nothing that can make you more self conscious than a giant scare.  Even though I would suggest Mederma, I will however be checking into a couple other suggestions that I found in the writing of this article.

I had surgery on the top of my big toe and it left a very visible scar. The doctor recommended Mederma and it worked just beautifully! The scar is almost invisible!I am using it now for some others scars.
